New York City Television And Video Week Will Feature Virtual Reality Day!

New York TV Week

The complexity of the television industry is not one for the faint of heart. Today you have numerous companies that have become distributors and with streaming becoming the choice of viewers, the old way is ending and a new era is beginning. This could not be a better time for the New York City Television and Video Week to come into the market to help us make sense of all this convergence.

The show will kick off Monday October 17 with a new entry added called Virtual Reality 20/20 day. It will feature the top minds and leading companies that are entering into the space of VR and Augmented Reality.

The B&C Hall Of Fame Event will be held and the Waldrof  Astoria and will feature the top names in the business.

During the week will be the NEXT/TV Summit, Advanced Advertising and ending with the HISPANIC TELEVISION SUMMIT one of my favorite events. I remember attending the very first one of these and it has expanded and grown as the industry has.

If you are a serious professional in the industry you will need to be here.  For more information go to http://www.nyctvweek.com

UBC-TV Network Signs Historic Sports Broadcast Deal with American Basketball Association!!

Well I have to tell  you I have been very busy these days!  I am in the midst of pre-launching my new cable network and boy it is a lot of work. I can also tell you that I am committed to doing things differently than other cable networks. I am committed to bringing exciting, cutting edge programming that is relevant to us! I will do this one hour at a time. But lets get to the juicy stuff.  UBC-TV has signed a initial deal with the American Basketball Association to televise nationally ten games, the play-offs and the championship game!!!  Whoopee!!  I am so excited to be able to let the public know this. We have some very exciting things that will be coming from UBC and ABA!  To take it up a level, we are going to have half-time entertainment!!  We will feature new and up and upcoming performing artist that will make the whole thing really funky. If you didnt know, the ABA and the NBA were around together until 1979. There are 4 teams now that are from the ABA in the NBA. A couple are the San Antonio Spurs, The New Jersey Nets and the Indiana Pacers. So it has a great history with it and this is the first time since its resurgence that they will have a national television contract. So its a good thing for the ABA and a good thing for UBC-TV.

I will  have more info about the ABA games as we move forward and some other big announcements in store as we move to our soft launch.

I am putting the press release up that is going out to media outlets. Also we now have a new Facebook page so you can go and check out current happening with UBC-TV. Please go and ‘Like Us’. Its UBCTV Networks.

I am attending my first Digital Hollywood and it will not be my last!!  Heavy hitters in the television, film, technology and entertainment industry all get together here to discuss and create the next level of the evolution of media.  There are numerous panels with people from CNBC, EPIX, Hearst Television, AOL, A&E Networks, Turner Networks, Pepsi, Disney, Toshiba, Facebook, PBS, Microsoft, BBC, Time Warner, Lionsgate and the list goes on and on!!  It’s the most incredible and industry diverse gathering of the top tier industry people I have ever been involved with.  The President of Digital Hollywood, Victor Harwood is definitely one of the most connected individuals in the whole media and entertainment industry.  The conference is sold out and I can understand why. Victor has several major conferences every year starting next year in January with a major presence at the annual CES- the computer and electronics show in Las Vegas. There is so much going on in the content world with all the different devices that are available now to distribute content on, add in social media and what facebook is doing, Youtube, Amazon, and lets not forget Apple; the big dog in the group. The ipad has changed the whole game in one year!!!  Now the cable networks are trying to keep up, the cell phone companies are in the game and this week Sony is talking about starting a content distribution company. Oh and there’s Google. Just too much to deal with. But it is a good time for new companies to get a foothold in the market while the big guys try to figure it out because some of them don’t know what the hell they are doing and going to do!!

Anyway, Digital Hollywood continues tomorrow at the McGraw-Hill Building on 49th and 6th Avenue. For more information go to http://www.digitalhollywood.com  This is really worth checking out!!
